Eluding Elucidation

by David Andrés Alíx

To supress

Is to hold

Spring which

Digs into my skin

Better should I

Release the

Tension, understanding

I have no comprehension

Of where this artifact may fly

I wish I could

Swallow it like a seed

That it may take root

In the soil beneath

My sternum

That it may be me, and I it

And yet

Remaining unchanged

But it is spring steel

And I will be free of only

The broken teeth I spit

The state I wish to obtain

And describe

And taste and feel

Is on my tongue’s tip

Perhaps tomorrow

Is the day I might attain it

Otherwise I shall need to

Continue abstaining from it
